Hey guys, I am having an issue with a BlackBook (not mine in the signiture). It froze 3 successive times on me, ended up force quitting the application each time (Photobooth) and then I went to restart to try and fix the issue. When I hit the menu, Finder froze up and it forced me to do a hard shutdown. It went to a gray screen on the next startup. It took me a few tries (including a PRAM zap), but I finally got it to boot from the instal disk.

Anyway, right now im repairing the disk (Disk Utility on the instal disk) and getting a bunch of errors on the screen. They are as follows.

Invalid Node Structure
Invalid Record Count
Missing thread record (id = 167302) <- that one a bunch of different times with different numbers
Volume Bitmap needs minor repair
Volume Header needs minor repair

It went through a bunch of other text (too much to type out) and finally ended with a "Repair Failed"

I'm assuming the HD is beyond repair. Am I correct in this assumption?

If you can access files at all, back up anything you can.

Maybe try an Archive and Reinstall?
