You will most likely notice that the size isn't all that different.

I have a Blackbook, and most of my friends have a MBP. The size difference is dramatic, and that picture you posted shows it. That macbook is way more portable than the MBP.

They are also the same weigth but the MacBook Pro comes with an LED-screen, which will give you a much more uniform screen.

My screen on my Blackbook is very even, but the LED screen does have its benefits such as improved battery life. Also, the MBP has a higher resolution screen, so if you have good eye sight you can fit more things on the screen than if it were lower resolution.

Thanks again for all of the input. I stopped by the mac store today- and look wise, I am in love with the MPB . There were smudges all over the blackbook- that might get on my nerves. Size wise- the MPB wasn't that much heavier and I agree with Pressure, it didn't seem that much bigger- but screen seemed alot bigger (the MB has a wider border around the screen). So today, I am leaning in the MBP direction. We'll see how I feel tomorrow...

If they're about the same price, and you can afford the MBP... go for it. They're far superior computers- everything except the keyboard that is.

Between a MacBook and the refurb MBP, I'd get the refurb MBP, definitely.

That's gonna be my next "desktop" instead of iMac if I decide I just cannot go back to a wall-tethered machine when my 15" powerbooks, which I now use as desktops, get too old to trust. I figure about a year more, which probably means whatever rev Apple puts on an MBP now will be my pick down the road.

I got the MBP, very happy with it so far. What you said about the keyboard, do you mean keys falling out? Both of my shift keys have escaped, not so easy to snap them back in....
