Yeah, I know that, which is why I’m super curious about the 512gb !

I just ordered a base 14” Pro for store pickup in 4.5 hours. I’ll post back when I get it setup later today. I am also very curious about the score for the 512 ?

How does blackmagic work? It just seems to go on forever.

Anyway
Write: 4300-4700 MB/s
Read: 5200-5450 MB/s

This is on a fresh 14" base model 512GB.

Was hoping for 6000+, but this is still twice as fast than my 2016 MBP, so, I guess it’s good. It’s also probably very similar to 1Tb. I wonder if 2, 4 and 8Tb hit 7.5Gbps, or is that only in special circumstances.

I suspect Blackmagic is not optimized for these speeds. There were some reviews that used other tools and got better numbers.

Am getting pretty much the same figures on mine. Impressive and I have to say the silver color contrasts amazingly with the black keyboard!!!

And honestly, the notch doesn't bother me a single bit. I have already forgotten that its there!

This is footnote 23 in Apple’s product page:
Testing conducted by Apple in September 2021 using preproduction 16-inch and 14-inch MacBook Pro systems, all configured with Apple M1 Max, 10-core CPU, 64GB of RAM, and 8TB SSD. Tested with FIO 3.27, 1024KB request size, 150GB test file, and IO depth=8.
So to compare against the stated 7.4gb/s speed, you have to run the same test.

Good point but I'm a happy camper with the results that I am getting!

Yeah. My thought exactly. Black magic is prob testing it in depth 1. Which is always gonna be lower
