Hey, this is my first post so sorry if i got it in the wrong area of the site... anyway. this mac is about 6 months old, i haven't downloaded anything recently. i have tried restarting, shutting down, logging in and out, and all. this is also happening on all my other accounts on this mac. (this is the Air if that helps.) i have never seen this before. what is happening is every time i right click, or click something int he tool bar, or anything that has a drop down menu (even the google search on top of safari) is like this, it is just a box, no words one colour. it seems to be whatever colour the pixel is i click on. be it white black blue cream whatever. after i click off it i can see the words for a split second. any help?

It is not lack of trust, that was just an observation.

Some ideas:
Try booting in Safe Mode.

Do you have any other Bootable Volume?
Give it a try.

Run Disk Utility, check and repair disk as needed.

Run Apple Hardware Test.

Try re-installing OS X.
