Blank Disc Won't Work

If I put a blank disc in, it either spits it back out, or gets stuck and I have to force eject it via Terminal. Anyone know how to fix this?

Does it read CDs and DVDs that have been formatted?
You music or movie CDs/DVDs?

May need to be cleaned

It reads movies, cd's, and blank DVD's that have files on them now. Just not completely blank DVD's. I think it might have done this before, not sure how I ended up copying files to them.
