Anyone notice a blank dock icon quickly flash right after login following a restart? Fresh install with no third party apps.

This was showing prior to installing 1password or any other apps. Just want to know if it's normal. Shot in slow motion.

It doesn't normally happen on a Mac. But we don't know what software you have installed. Check your login items in System Settings.

Clean install so nothing. Seeing this on two different devices so thinking it may be the FileVault post-login screen running as an app

FileVault is enabled. Would appreciate if anyone can restart and see if their dock “shrinks” right after login because the blank icon was there for a split second

That definitely does not happen on mine. You see the icon in the Recents section of your Dock. Does it show in the Recents menu? If not, you'd probably have to go looking in the system logs.

What device and version of macOS are you running? FileVault enabled or disabled?

The latest Ventura, 13.5.1. FileVault is enabled. I still think that looks like a login item.
