Hey all , i downloaded the 3d app called Blender. Its free for public use. Anyways I downloaded the Mac OSX python 2.4 10.3.9 and up version. Yet once i unzip it and try to open the app file it flashes in my dock then closes. Whats this about. Im running on 10.4.5

Same problem here. Anyone with any experience with this app? The website says it may crash immediately on machines with less than 16MB of video memory, but I've got about 4x that.

I had to download it from different servers (US, NL or Germany) before I was able to launch Blender. On the first try from one of the servers for download, I was not able to launch it after double clicking it. If your Mac has over 16MB for VRAM and have problems with launch, it may be worthwhile to download from the different server. I was able to install it on my iBook and Ti PB. I also downloaded onto my Fujitsu Tablet PC (when I open it on my Tablet PC, Blender pops up one of those Terminal-looking window briefly before the full launch). I am trying to learn this program; I have one of their training book. I have been still stuck at the first or second chapter as I am totally new at 3D program.

Hi, you could try to install Python 2.4.2
download the source and use the following commands in terminal to compile:

./configure --enable-framework=/Library/Frameworks
make
make frameworkinstall

Or...

you could download the Python 2.3 version of Blender...
the file is called: blender-2.41-OSX-10.3-py2.3-powerpc.zip

I've got a different problem... am trying to run Blender on a Mac mini core duo. Can't wait for the universal binary. The x86 beta which is out... starts ok... but the buttons won't respond to clicks.
