They’re very similar with some difference in exposure or HDR applied. Can’t be bothered to pixel peep.

Geez - they both look nice. I can't tell which is which. Glad you are doing this test as I was just trying to compare in store.

Those are all great shots and they are pretty much identical IMO, I wouldn’t be able to pic one over the other, I could quite easily say that these are from the same camera (if you hadn’t have said they are from different cameras).

Great pics,

Adam.

With the exception of the zoom lens, the camera systems are identical all the way down to the CPU processing the data. So this really isn't a test of the cameras so much as is it a test of every other variable like timing, luck, how steady your hand was, placement, minute lens/sensor flaws, etc. If every variable was able to be controlled, in theory both cameras would produce identical results. I'm not sure what this thread is attempting to prove.

That aside, I'll go #2 on the first set and no clear winner on the second set.

I think somebody wants to show off that they mowed the lawn and cut some flowers!

As others have stated, the photos should be the same in this situation. But I like the idea!
Best to try portrait mode... of faces only unfortunately.

For the first set of photos the only clue I can see is that the sky is very slightly less overexposed in the second photograph (you can see details of the clouds in the brightest part down between the two houses) but otherwise both photos seem to manage very well! This combined with the slightly darker overall tone would suggest this (second) device manages the HDR ever so slightly better, though I still wouldn’t like to hazard a guess as to which it is if both are theoretically identical cameras!

Flowers are artificial

In the house photo there’s more detail shown in the shadows in pic 1. In the photo of the flowers in the second photo there’s an amoeba riding a floating speck of lint and waving at us, so that is clearly the superior photo. ;)

These look pretty much identical when viewed from my iPhone.
In that photo it took me a while to pick out a difference and I think it’s that the first camera did a slightly better job of preserving details in the highlights.

I’ve seen exactly this kind of subtle difference between my silver iPhone 8 Plus photos vs my Product red one. So I think the differences here may just be the usual differences between one sample camera and another vs the fact they’re from different models.

In the first set of photos I'd say #1 is better...the second set it’s harder to tell, they both look good to me.

I am what you would call an 'average consumer' when it comes to cameras. They both look good, I can't spend any time on trying to determine the difference in detail the 'average consumer' does not care about :)
