I've just downloaded the upgrade to ATV2.0. Once it asked to install the update, the ATV reset and then began to flash amber/white/amber/white over and over again while showing an icon of the ATV with a blinking question mark.

If I unplug the apple tv and plug it back in again, I get the 1.1 firmware. If I try doing a factory restore, I get the same scenario as above.

've done some more research, but still no luck.

After leaving the machine off for a while, I was able to perform a factory reset and have it reboot successfully. But alas, the upgrade still brought me the blinking question mark.

I also ran a diagnostic (hold menu and down arrow until the apple tv resets), but that return that there were no problems with the drive.

A previous post from apple says to bring in the appletv to the store if this problem occurs:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305164

My inclination is to leave it off for a while and try a bit later. Otherwise, it's into the apple store, unless anyone else has a notion.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Cheers,
Jon

It definitely sounds like you need to take this to a store.
