I'd be interested to know how well WoW runs on the base MBA 7 core GPU compared to the 8 core GPU.

Blizzard is smart. They know how well these Airs will sell. Being one of the few games that support native gaming for a when will generate them some crazy $$$.

Totally expect to have all pro music apps and all Adobe software migrated to ARM support before Guild Wars 2.

I saw a Youtuber playing World of Warcraft with the M1 MacBook Pro earlier today. They were also streaming to Twitch using OBS on the same device. Note that while Blizzard is providing native support for WoW today, that patch, 9.0.2, was not live at the time of this stream, meaning WoW and OBS were both being used under Rosetta at the time I watched this on YouTube.

The game got 30 FPS at 1080p resolution on graphics settings 5 out of 10.

I assume FPS will be higher once the native patch goes live and also higher if you are only running the game and not also streaming to Twitch. But I thought even the 30 FPS on 5 was impressive considering the conditions.

When does the WOW 9.02 patch drop that supports M1?
It comes out today. Servers are down right now, extended maintenance for the expansion. So don’t download WoW until the patch goes live tonight. Officially maintenance end time is 6 pm EST but could take longer, they usually do when it’s the last update before an expansion.

Now that they have it running on the m1 / apple silicon they should port it over to run on an iPad. :p As awesome as it sounds like the m1 is turning out to be for macOS I would be far more interested in taking that capability and putting it into the iPad form factor as it would give even more portability, I can hook up and use my own keyboard (sorry, the MacBook keyboard or any notebook keyboard really is atrocious) and an external monitor when I need to.

Has maintenance finished yet?
Actually, WoWhead is reporting servers are back up in North America, maybe they finally streamlined the pre-expansion patch process. I don’t have the MacBook yet to test myself, but if you have it, you should be good to download now.

Has maintenance finished yet?
Also, if you do have an M1 and you test it today, can you report back here and let me know how performance was? Like, which MacBook you have, which graphical setting and resolution you used, and the frame rate? Thank you!

Someone posted on the warcraft forums that they have the mini connected to an ultrawide monitor at 3440x1440 running graphics preset 5 and getting 45-50 fps in orgimmar. Changing the resolution to 1080 results in around 65-70fps.
