They may (or may not) be need in the future.

Intell macrumors P6 Jan 24, 2012 #3 Use TinyUmrella. But at this time they are not reuseable on A5 devices. To reuse them on A5 devices on iOS 5 and higher, a bootrom exploit is needed. But in the event a bootrom exploit it found, it's good to have your blobs.
