Hello there

I'm using Opera and uBlock Origin. I mostly use DuckDuckGo but sometimes I use google. I tried to remove the ads but I am not good at this.

Here an exemple:

I tried the "inspector mode" but I couldn't find what to block. I tried adding *https://www.googleadservices.com/* in my custom filter but it doesn't work. Anyone could help me block these ads, by any chance?

Usually, ad blockers have additional settings, that most of the users are not aware of.
For example, I use AdBlock Plus (I know, I know), and it does the job.
If you want to give it a try, install it (AdBlock Plus exactly, not AdBlock), and change the General settings to:
(check "Block additional tracking", optionally check "Block social media icons tracking", and 100% uncheck "Allow Acceptable ads" - those google ads fall in this category).

To change the settings, click the extension icon and then the Gear icon in the corner.

Thanks for your answer. However I read somewhere it’s better to use uBlock Origins. I stopped using ABP a long time ago.

Maybe it’s Opera the culprit. I don’t understand why it doesn’t work.

Opera started working really weird in regards to ads a few days ago. It stopped blocking YouTube ads for example. 3rd party ad blockers are the way to go now

I just found out that Google was an exception in Opera built-in adblock, this is unbelievable!

I removed it but surprisingly, the ad is popping up then blocked. I thought adblock in Opera was about blocking ads before they appear

Our ad blocker "catches" ads as early as possible, right in the engine, when you first request a webpage. This all happens "under the hood", so all you'll see is how much faster webpages load.
