Blocked Screen With Jpeg Icons

Please help .I stupidely downloaded 1000 jpegs from my camera onto the desktop , so it has blocked it and the little wheel goes round and round and the finder is blocked.
I believe there is a keyboard option to make a folder and then automatically suck the icons into the folder ??? .Or any other way of solving this problem ?¿¿?'

Any geniuses out there , please .¡?¿??¿

You can try holding down the control and option key and clicking on the finder icon in the dock and relaunch it.
