I feel as if I am missing something obvious.

What is the process to manually block a phone number (the phone number is not in my contacts or recents)?
Surely, I don't have to add the number to my contacts first, and then block, RIGHT? 😳

If they've called you, touch the call in the recent calls list and then "Block Contact"

If they haven't called, or if you've deleted the call, then.... dunno.

Just enter the number.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Blocked Contacts > Add
(can get to there and drop another level to add: > N Unknown > Add

And pretty much same from Phone app settings: Settings > Apps > Phone > Blocked Contacts

I tried that and it's not accepting just adding a number... only pulls up prior contacts.

The article shows the steps I gave for numbers in the call log, or "Block Contacts." So I assume, if you want to pro-actively block someone who's not calling you anyway 🤔 (leaving aside the necessity to do that) - I guess add them as a contact, then block them.

Rather odd, but, after adding a few specific phone numbers to my block list, I feel an overall form of relief.

Without going into details, this is in relation to extended family drama, and I simply don't have the mental capacity to deal with it, nor do I want to...
