Has blocking a text message number been removed in this beta? I click on “i”, but the option is missing.

It's a 3-step process... I think the extra step is new:

The block option is not there.

Strange, the block option is available for the attached numbers in the photo, but not the number of origin. Oh well. Thanks everyone for your help!

You didn’t say anything about spam in your first post. There is no inherent ability in iOS to block a text that doesn’t list a phone number. The best you can do in iOS if that happens, is filter messages between known sender and unknown sender.
The number is there strangely enough.

Add the number you want to block as a new contact and then follow the steps I and dw stated, and you should be able to block them.

Add a new group called spam in your iCloud, and assign all the spam contacts you create in order to block, to that new group.

It really helps us, if your give all the necessary information to begin with, which you didn’t do.

Your carrier might have the ability to block spam text messages before they get to you, however, there also might be an extra monthly charge for doing so. The best free way for now is as @BasicGreatGuy pointed out.

Could you instead just create one Spam contact, and add the new numbers to that same contact each time? So that you end up with one blocked contact that has multiple phone numbers assigned to it?

That is how I used to do it until iOS 13 came along. That is why I talked about adding a special group to add all the numbers to. With iOS 13 and T-Mobile Name ID, I don’t need the spam list anymore.
