Blocking spam messages that cost money to receive

When I block a spam message will it now stop them charging me money to receive the text?
 
The blocking feature only prevents it from appearing on your phone. The message is still delivered to your cellular provider and subject to any charges.
 
This is why i've been doing off contract cell phone service since 2009. My current Straight Talk plan gives me pretty much unlimited everything.
