blocking text messages from given numbers ?

Is it possible that we cannot do this ??

From ATT:

"Note: Currently there is no way to block incoming text messages from other wireless numbers."

I just can't believe it. Can someone be so nice to confirm ?

Not that it affects me as my plan is unlimited but for those who have limited text plans per month I could see how it would be annoying that this is the case.

That's completely true. We have "Call and Message blocking" You can choose up to five number to block both from, and the blocks will last for three months before they expire. It is a free service, but unfortunately as of now we can't block private/unlisted numbers (people biggest complaint).

The weird thing is, AT&T used to provide this capability, but now they don't. That's annoying.

i was able to with my old Samsung A237 phone on AT&T but then that was a phone feature not an AT&T feature.
