Hi, I'm new here and in ned of advice. I apologize in advance for not using the 'search' tool.

    Down to business:

I am trying to block and password protect three or four specific websites in Safari and would rather not have to create a whole new Parental Control enabled account to do so. Is it possible to block websites on the admin account?

Is this even a stupid question, can it be done?

Being a complete Mac newbie I have no clue and the help button has only so far suggested making a whole new account which seems a lot of hassle when it's only a handful of websites that I'd like to block.

If anyone could help that'd be great.

One way to do it is to purchase Little Snitch 2 for $29.95 and then create a Little Snitch rule for Safari that blocks connection to the websites you want to block:

    http://www.obdev.at/products/littlesnitch/index.html

I use this as a satisfied customer and works well for these sorts of things. I'm not sure what your other options would be, but hopefully, someone here pipes up.

Ah, right, I'd forgotten about these two. Good tip -- thanks!
