Blog Issues: Help with links misalign.FIXED

Can someone help me with the top navigation links why they cannot be adjusted to top of the blog? I tried everything and cannot get this to work.

Also whats easy for a noob web programmer for Photo gallery, Ajax, Javascript, or CSS?
