My brand new Apple Watch series 6 blood oxygen isn’t working. When I open it on my watch shows me this message (attached image), and then when I follow the directions and open the watch app on my phone it doesn’t have the blood 02 settings (also attached). I restored my phone thinking maybe I set it up with family settings on accident, but after three separate restores and new setups, it’s still not available. Is anyone else having this problem?

You have two choices

1) Keep the beta and wait for it to be supported in an upcoming beta release
2) Downgrade to iOS 14

Do not install beta on your new watch. You can’t downgrade your watch like your can your phone.
Are there are reports of other people having similar problems? Why wouldn’t iOS 14.2 have blood oxygen setting in it?

Betas are works in progress not feature complete. They can disable features while they work out bugs.

I received my Series 6 today and I am also on 14.2 beta. A Google search brought me to this thread after I had tried multiple times to get the app to work. Anyway, I will wait for the next Beta update and hope the issue is resolved. I am not sure I can manage to come out of Beta and install 14 non beta version.

Remove the profile and enter DFU mode to downgrade to iOS 14.

I decided to wait for the next beta update and hope Apple will add back the Blood Oxygen app to the iPhone. But this has made me weary of signing up for iOs 15 beta next year.

My blood oxygen app has been working just fine and then this morning I puilled it up and I got a black screen with "Blood 02" at the top. Will reboot and see if that fixes it.

EDIT: Yup. Working fine after a reboot.

What you experienced with the app has been a standard experience with betas. One week a function may work fine and the next week it won’t, or even be removed for unknown reasons. If you like consistency and app availability, sticking with standard releases may be for the best.

I am fine with some apps crashing etc. But a new feature in my new Watch 6 (Oxygen saturation) not working miffed me a bit initially. But I have now got over it. I just put on my wife's watch to do the test.

May I ask, do you find it to be quite accurate? I would like to buy one for my wife if so.

I mean, I have nothing to compare it to - I don't have a professional, medical grade Blood O2 machine in the house. So I assume it's accurate-ish, but ....

i recently had to visit my pneumo/lung-doc and part of this visit was this testing on a more or less 'professional looking' device. I had very similar results on the watch: +/- 2% deviation, which somehow impressed me and the doc as well.
Hope, Apple will introduce an option to use a threshold to trigger a warning, if bloodoxy goes below (let's say) 65% for example.

We have to wear masks almost all the time at work now, and this morning while wearing my mask, I got a 99% blood oxygen rate. :)
