... 1. Is there an app for my watch that will automatically record my BP readings from Omron? Omron does not have such an app. 2. Where on my watch can I find my Health App data?
hi
Omron does have an iPhone and an apple Watch app.
its called Omron Connect. its in the iOS app store. this you already know since your data is syncing to the iPhone Health library. your monitor is not putting data into Health; its doing it through Omron Connect.
after you install it on yr iPhone, you can use the Watch app on your iPhone to also install it on your Watch. just flick the switch and it will install on yr Watch.
after you install it on yr Watch, then you should do a couple of things:
- make sure your iPhone and the Omron bp monitor are linked by bluetooth
- make sure on yr iPhone you go to privacy and security setting and set Location privacy for Omron Connect to Always.
setting it to always is the best way to ensure that after you take your blood pressure that the reading is automatically synced to your Omron Connect app. you can also set the notification setting to alert you that it has been synced.
it definitely wants to be given Always for location privacy. without allowing that, you will need to usually sync it manually. it uses apple's BLE (bluetooth low energy) iBeacon tech to sync.
now, to see yr blood pressure readings on yr Watch, you need to do either of these two things:
1 simply go to the app library on yr Watch and press the Omron Connect icon, or
2 set the Omron Connect to be one of yr complications on yr Watch, and then just press that complication.
you will be able to see your latest 10 readings or so, along with heart rate.
the same Watch app also lets you see yr weight and one other data point as well, such as Lean Muscle Mass (if you use an Omron weight scale that also syncs to the Omron Connect app.
