chop it up to VLC for claiming another victim.
accidentally hit the volume max on the VLC app and wouldn't you know it, the left speaker on my 2009 19' iMac is shot. Static even with almost no bass. EXTREMELY ANNOYING.

I would like to get it fixed since it's making listening to tunes (and anything else) kinda unbearable.

Is it hard to do it yourself? anyone else take their to apple?
Should i just grin and bear it?

For you search nazis, i searched this issue and couldn't find applicable threads.

Cheapest option would be to buy a pair of externals. They will sound better than the iMac ones did anyhow.
