do the blu-ray player need to be external?

If I have a Mac Pro, can I just install it into the 2nd DVD drive slot?

Or does it have to be USB 2 for a reason?

It should work, but you'll have to try it.

If it doesn't work, then just buy a 5.25" enclosure for it (with a SATA internal interface). Mine is a Bytecc USB2/FW400 enclosure.
