Blue Screen

What does it mean when the screen goes blue for 5 to 10 seconds? I am running hand break and surfing thats it. I have 2011 27 inch iMac 3.4GHZ and upgraded the ram to 12GB. It seems to mostly happen when I'm browsing websites.

Anybody? Also the blue screen flashes during start up for a couple of seconds. Is this normal?

during startup seems normal to me unless it gets stuck there...mine did and was a hard drive issue.

during surfing...not sure at all. does it come back to life or freeze and need restarting during those times?

i only get the blue screen when i turn on the tv since it's connected to the mdp-hdmi adapter.
