Can anyone help me diagnose the problem with my white macbook?
Does this sound like a firmware/hardware issue?
What steps should i take/try?
-worked fine for past 1.5yrs
-havnt updated osx recently (using SL)
-2hrs ago, Watching youtube on safari, laptop lagged, then froze. -Had to shut down using the power button.
Upon restart:
-Chime doesnt begin until ~10seconds after press power button
-Very long wait for white screen with apple background and the "loading circle thing"
-Then get blue screen with the arrow cursor
Tried SAFE MODE:
-takes ~10mins to load safe mode
-loads login prompt
-freezes when logging in
Tried loading from CD earlier:
-snow leopard cd in laptop, then pressed c and hold after power button
-appears to be stuck at white screen with apple background (was stuck for 10mins before i stopped trying)
(I am now trying to wait longer than 10mins - i dont know how long to hold c button though, im not going to hold for 10mins this time)
EDIT: SL install cd loaded. i am now trying to re-install SL
