Just picked up my iPhone 15 Pro here in Australia. Overall, so far quite happy, note, no technicalities to discuss about the phone itself as just yet as of time of writing because the phone is still being set up via iPhone to iPhone transfer (quick start).

I will start with the Blue Titanium, generally speaking while the Natural Titanium is the one getting all the love, I thought I would write up what to expect.

Titanium truly feels amazing in the hand, I will definitely have individual days going caseless just to enjoy how it feels in my hand.

I regret saying that Titanium Blue looks just like the Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro - it does not. The specialist who helped me had a Pacific Blue 12 Pro compare and it was markedly lighter in shade. Blue Titanium is even darker and stealthier but thats why I also love it because it looks so classy. It is a lot closer to the Midnight MacBook Air. The colour of a clear night sky is my favourite, so of course, I am very happy here.

Outdoors in the daylight (it is overcast here, no sunlight), you can see the blue coming out.

However indoors, we instead see that Midnight clear night sky colour instead, mostly black with some indigo mixed in.

EDIT, seems the blue can actually pop indoors as well, just depends on the lighting but wow I love how classy this looks

Now, FineWoven.

I’m quite on the fence about it. It is definitely a step down in premium feeling over the leather cases. However, it isn’t as bad as I thought. The soft and velvety back still feels very nice in the hand. I haven’t managed to scratch it yet. And it still has the aluminised buttons we love from the leather case. Actually, the sides and front of the case still resemble what the leather case looked like.

I will keep it for the two week returns period and make a decision as to whether or not it I will keep it or exchange for a silicone case. Rest assured everyone, in the Silicone Cases selection for the 15 Pro thus far, there are plenty of good looking options with Blue Titanium as I tried on in store - Winter Blue, Storm Blue or Clay.

To sum up:

If you went for Blue Titanium, you are in for a real treat. This colour is really low key, it is stealthy and professional looking, I love it. It feels like two colours in one. I have a feeling that Blue Titanium will be the exclusive colour for this year rather than Natural Ti, so that also adds in to my satisfaction in choosing this phone where I’ll keep it for years.

As for FineWoven - maybe wait and see what you think of it first in person and on your phone and go from there. I know this case has gotten a lot of criticism and well justified, however, I think for now it is passable. I still miss the leather cases.

Wow — indoors I would have said that it’s Titanium Black. It reminds of the green on the iPhone 11 Pro which looked grey/black in some light and emerald in others.

It almost makes me regret purchasing Titanium Black. *Almost.* 😉
That’s my iPad camera, you should see a more noticeable prominent drop of blue in real life that my iPad wasn’t able to pick up but yes I love the Blue. And I agree my indoor photo does make it look quite black.

I came from a Sierra Blue 13 Pro, light blue to dark blue and blue is my favourite colour!

What about the size. Do you wish you had snagged a PM instead after handing the Pro?

I have average size hands, so the PM is not really in my favour. I understand and concede it means missing out on the 5x zoom for another 2-3 years but yeah! The regular pro size for me is perfect.

Also the Australian way of life, except winter time here, as you know its hot, we love to wear board shorts that have smaller pockets - the smaller phone size means it fits in said pockets much better as another example. But yes I feel Pro vs Pro Max is something each individual should decide for themselves :)

yeah that was why I swapped from a 13 max to a 14 pro, but thinking with the less wait maybe max again, but then pro could be even better lighter haha

What version of iOS did it come with? 17.0 or 17.0.1? And any issues with versions and setting it up with iPhone transfer?

Just following up here - my iPhone to iPhone transfer is complete so can take pics using my old phone. Here are a couple more unedited indoor shots.

I trust the blue comes out better here :) it is well and truly a stunning shade

17.0, but made me update to 17.0.1 before proceeding with the internal transfer

The new photos do bring out a bit of the blue in the darker light, but I suspect it’s deceptively gray — not that I’m complaining. I actually quite like that color shift, which is a bit like Carbon Black on some M series BMWs. Thanks for posting the new photos!

And for what it’s worth, I also quite like the new FineWoven cases and wallet. I find if you don’t think of it as a replacement for leather but consider it as a product under its own merits, it’s actually quite a nice velvet (or as some furniture retailers call it, “performance velvet”) product. I think Apple’s unfortunate position (and what a lot of folks are struggling with) is that they’re comparing it to the leather that it “replaces.”

But it’s not a replacement; it’s a progression. It’s a progress in the same way that USB C is a progression over Lightning (which I still prefer from a physical form factor perspective, despite its other technical limitations.) It’s a textile (not at all the suede rumors suggested) and its lightweight and structural integrity are appropriate for its intended customers — namely, folks who are going to take it out of their pockets and handbags, use it, and stow it away This is not the Exxxtreme Armorbox Defender Series with Hyper-T durability — it’s a nice day-to-day case and wallet, and for that, I think it will do just fine.

Was your old phone on 17.0 or 17.01?
17.0

That fabric case is something. How long would that hold up, one day?

Very chic.

None of us know yet.

this is making me second guess my natural titanium lol

I honestly think the natural titanium looks really sweet as well and it definitely deserves all the praise it is getting. It would’ve easily been my first choice if the blue wasn’t here.

The blue woven case looks really cool. Looks like dark blue.
Yes the pacific blue finewoven case from Apple, matches up nicely enough, would also be nice if we got new colours in the Spring season

Nice pics - thanks for sharing!

I ordered the Fine Woven cases for my and my wife’s new phones but I’m going to return them. Aaron Zollo did a tear-down of one on his YouTube channel, and while the protection and robustness seems high it was highly susceptible to scratches and marks that were irreparable.
