Hi,

So my co-worker just got her new iPhone today. I helped her set it up and I notice that her phone as this blue triangular icon on top of the ATT signal bar. I've never noticed it before on mine. It's not a defective screen because I can see shadows behind it, but I'm not sure what it is or what it means.

I'm guessing it's something with iOS 4.0.2 since I'm on 4.0.1 and haven't seen it.
Has anyone else noticed this? What is it?

Thanks :)

I've never seen that either, but a triangle on a cell phone usually means roaming, so that's my best guess.

Not sure over the signal bar area. There's a triangle pointing to the upper right near the battery area when you are using GPS though.

Get a screen shot, being the nerd i am I'm curious to see this. Triangles with anything cellular usually means roaming or something to do with cellular set up. When I got my droid before they connected it to the network I had a little green triangle next to the bars...

I'm pretty sure it has to do with location services. Everytime i use google maps and search for something or get directions it shows up. It will stay on there for a minute or so after closing the app as well.

It's not location services or the "Now Playing" triangle. I've seen a screenshot of this before, it's on the top left corner, not that big though. I have no clue what it means though.

Edit: Here's what I think OP is talking about.

I believe you are correct if we are talking about the same thing. One can talk about a blue triangle or a blue arrow which is to the left of the battery charge gauge.

Here is one thread talking about this and I confirm this when running speedtest (which uses my location)

Wow people do you guys even read? It is NOT location services. Every one needs to stop saying that.

Look at Etnies419 post. That's what he's talking about. Not location services.

Plus the location arrow is no where near the AT&T logo.

No idea what it is but after seeing that screen shot I realized I had the same thing on my iPad. I have no idea how it go there or why, but the device started acting up especially after doing a reset (device wouldn't boot for a few minutes). I don't know if they're related but it would be interesting to find out what exactly it is.

Are we referring to to this icon?

I've been looking for an answer to this question too. Here's the icon I'm curious about. (Is this the one we're talking about here?)

Eureka!

Thanks for the quick reply. This is indeed the charge indicator for my bluetooth headset. Turned off my jawbone & it disappeared. Thx so much!
