Hmmm, I'm running 10.3.1, so that may make a difference. Otherwise the 15" and 12" should have the same adaptor, and that shoots down the notebook theory.

I just found out that you need to run the bluetooth update that came with the CD in order to get it to work. I was pretty sure that I downloaded the bluetooth firmware update before. Oh well, it's all good for me now. So if you don't get it still, get that cd out and do the firmware update

Bluetooth Lag

Has anyone else running wireless mouse+kboard noticed lag when using the mouse since the update?

I've tried pairing it again and it is still *really* slow and laggy (and yes I've adjusted the mouse settings)

Running 1.25ghz 17" iMac....

Yes, you are quite right Icekey, never ran the firmware update. In fact I never even opened the CD, I thought it was just a driver! Now I get the "wake from sleep" option, although I haven't actually tried it yet.

pjtro2: I haven't noticed any lag. However, I tried deleting the pairing after the update, and re-pairing my mouse, and it never finished, eventually I gave up and rebooted (for the second time, also rebooted immediately following update), and it has worked fine since. The pairing happened almost instantly afterwards.

On a similiar note, does anyone's mouse battery life not get updated? LIke, the keyboard has the wavey lines with the battery level at aroun d80%, but the mouse one is hte solid blue and is at full. Something must be wrong

Man - are you late to the party. Customers that purchased the 1.25Ghz Aluminum Powerbook the day it was released could exchange it for a GOLD version within 3 days. The AuBook is a very unique unit = not as heavy as you think - it's only Gold Plated - but it is sweeeeeeeeet.

Just Works for Me

What sort of settings have you done to get it working? Did you just update it through the software update, reboot, and were you able to tick from there???

Wake from sleep using my Bluetooth mouse has always worked for me - even before updating to this latest version of Bluetooth. I never had to do anything special to allow the selection of the tick for "...allow wake from sleep" on the Bluetooth preference panel. Sorry...

Setup: Apple Bluetooth mouse, new PB 12 with built in bluetooth, running OS X 10.2.8.

Bluetooth Wake from Sleep

OK, for those of you that cannot get your system to wake from sleep using a bluetooth device - this is what you need to get it to work.

I have NOT tried this under 10.2.8 - only under 10.3.1.

If you have installed the latest and greatest bluetooth update from Apple and it still doesn't work.

Grab the CD that came with the keyboard or with the mouse and install the firmware update.

You will then be required to delete the pairs and reconnect.

Once you've done this, everything will work wonderfully well. Be careful - the Firmware update will cycle the keyboard and mouse. Once you have done the update, turn OFF the keyboard and MOUSE (the switches underneath the devices) for 10 seconds and then turn it back on - then re-pair the devices.

I have a 1.25Ghz 15" Powerbook and this works great for me.

?!? I though restarts for installations would no longer be required in Panther. I thought that was one of its new features. That's what I get for thinking. :(

Actually, I believe this was only a rumor, it was never officially announced by Apple. However, it is true to a certain extent. The main thing was supposed to be that you wouldn't have to restart for security updates. The first security update for Panther you did have to restart for, but for the second one you didn't.

Still can't get Bluetooth Mouse to re-sync

I'm running the newest version of Panther, have loaded the firmware for the mouse of the CD, and the newest (recent) Bluetooth update, but my mouse still refuses to show up automatically as connected. It's always paired and a favorite, but never connected. Turning the mouse off and on doesn't help either, and I just deleted the "pairing" and "re-paired" it, still to no avail.

The only way I can get it to work is to select Browse device in the menu, which is obviously wrong, but that at least gives me an error message that it's not THAT type of device, and then all of a sudden my 15" 1.25 AlBook sees it as a mouse and allows me to use it as normal.

Any ideas?

Something rather funny... to me anyway... about 4 years ago when Apple released Airport, I made a photoshopped wireless mouse and called it the AirMouse and gave it a webpage. It got a lot of attention, but everyone said it would never happen, Wi-Fi was not the way, but everyone wanted it. And today, here we are using an Apple wireless mouse that runs over the same 2.4GHz frequency as Airport. Strange.

Got my Bluetooth Mouse working now, not sure what did it exactly, but I also don't remember clicking the mouse to make it be recognized once being turned on. It does seem however, that merely moving the mouse around does not make it work, I must click it to get the proper initialization.

thats also solved the same problem for me. it appears that 2 click of the mouse wakes the mouse up and registers it with the powerbook (g4/1000)

several problems i have had is using the mouse on reflective surfaces. today my mouse was tracking left along the wood grain of the office desk. it also doesnt work on bright white refective tiles;-)

1.1 Firmware Update

It appears that the Wireless Keyboard/Mouse Firmware update fixes a lot of the problems discussed in this forum. Give it a try.

That's because 1.5 came out last month.
