Picked up a pre owned Mac mini m2 8gb. Hooked my up Logitech MX keys keyboard and mouse. They disconnect and have a hard time reconnecting. When I type something it takes a few seconds for it to start showing up on the screen. Same with another keyboard I have.

I also have a wireless keyboard and mouse that connects with a receiver that is extremely unresponsive. Keys will randomly work.

The thing is, all these devices work fine on my MacBook Pro m1.

It is fully updated to sequoia.I have also done a full reset.

Any one know what could be causing this?

Thanks.

The things that interfere with BT/WiFi are:

Electrically noisy HDMI or USB-A cables - ie cheap no-brand unshielded cables.
Electrically noisy charging devices etc placed too near to the Mac.
Or mounting the Mac, especially Studios or minis, near a lot of steelwork in the desk or monitor mountings.

I get best results by mounting my Mac mini on its edge, with the black plastic underside towards my (Apple) keyboard and mouse.

The Mac Studio isn't as easily mountable, so the miniscule antenna slits in it aluminium case are less easily directed towards your wireless devices.

Hey thanks a lot. It is sitting next to my mini pc and also plugged into my 65 inch tv.

I've always had problems with bluetooth on my old 2011 and current 2018 Mac Mini to the point that I just gave up. I now logitech keyboard/mouse with the receiver plugged into a hub mounted to my monitor.

I'm am hoping you find a solution or at least the upcoming M4 Mini redesign will just solve this. I want a touch ID keyboard when I upgrade to a M version Mac mini or I will have to figure out how to mount it on my desk and keep my disks and other attachments in my cabinet.

Update:

So something interesting. I disconnected the mini from my tv and now using it on a monitor and it seems to be working ok SO FAR.

Does anyone know why using the mini on a tv could cause issues? I had a mini pc connected to the tv and that worked fine.

Bluetooth on the Mini has had complaints since the current Mini design was first introduced.
I've predicted in this forum numerous times:
It's never going to be "fixed".

Best to use bt with the Mini as little as one can get away with...

As mentioned by @PaulD-UK, mounting the Mini on its edge helps a lot. I also had problems (mainly with Wifi) that vanished after I bought a vertical stand. I even have more space on my desk now, because the Mini stands behind the display.
