Bluetooth batt. meter

Is anyone else using bluetooth headphones/earbuds that report the batt. level to their iPhone? The documentation that I've seen shows a horizontal batt. meter that looks to be usable.

But mine shows a small vertical meter that is pretty useless. I'm wondering why the difference in the meters and if anyone knows how to change to the larger one. I'll attach a screenshot showing the small one I am seeing.

My Bluetooth headphones have the same one. I believe it looked the same in iOS 7 as well. I am not aware of a way to change it but maybe it is possible.

The horizontal meter was in iOS 6 and earlier. It's been the vertical meter since iOS 7 and there is no way to change it.

OK. Thanks for the info. My previous buds didn't have that feature and the new ones show a picture of the old meter.
