I can pair them up without issue, music stream is fine but after 10-15 minutes I lose connection. Bluetooth settings show as still being connected to Ford Audio, and Stereo shows as still being connected to the iPhone, but I get no sound whatsoever until I disconnect and pair them up again. Works ok again for 10-15 mins...and, well, I have to start all over again.

Fixable, or is it a case of put up with it until it maybe gets fixed in the next release?

It's fair to say I'm mighty annoyed.

Looks like it's a trip to a Ford Dealership to get ripped off buying a cable connector.

Same issue here too... perhaps if you take it in to a Ford Dealer there maybe a Bluetooth upgrade for the radio - sometimes Ford release software updates for their radios, just like Apple release updates for the iPhone. Perhaps worth trying before you spend money on a cable. Also I think when you use the cable you can't accept any calls via Bluetooth.

I'm annoyed as it was working great in ios 4.3

This has been a problem with Ford bluetooth since about BETA 3, lots of error reading audio devices etc. Really annoying, i'd stop using it if i were you, as it eventually locked up my bluetooth and now i can't turn it on/off and need the garage to reset it again.

Imagine Ford will have to release a update to their bluetooth software, which i can't see happening anytime soon :-(

Yep, had mine just done and it now has no errors and also displays album and track details! Much better now.

Where did you get the update done?
Do you have any info I can give to the dealership to save confusion? Thanks.

Finally got round to taking mine to the dealer this morning...and they pretty much told me they wouldn't update the software!

They basically said that it was an problem with Apples software, not theirs, and that updating the software on the car could make the issue worse.

Take it to a different dealership, preferably one that's got a clue.

Have the same problem with my '11 Flex with IP4 and iOS5. It will sometimes connect just fine when I start the car, while other times won't connect at all. If I manually connect it, it will disconnect after about a minute. I'm assuming it's the phone that's the problem, it worked just fine before iOS5.

I have a lincoln mkx and don't have any problem with streaming audio to my car, it never drops! And to my surprise we can now see the titles of the tracks playing...
