oh and it is mad, one of the freaky things about macs, 99% of the time better then great and then these things! Keep the faith though it'll get there eventually

Flicking between connected and not connected. Have swapped the batteries from MM to KBW. Go to go out now. Going to buy some more batteries (again!) on way back. Will report back when home.

Solved. delete bluetoothpreference.plist in library. Repair disk permissions. Replace battery. Finally sorted. Thanks for your help man.
