So everyone that bought Bluetooth headphones did so because Apple is rumored to be removing the headphone jack on the iPhone 7? Wow!

apple rules the world and is the alpha and omega of everything...didn't you know. the wheel, the iron age, the bronze age, the space age, everything that has ever happened ...apple was the driving force behind it it. Anyone else claimingc credit..is lying.

But yes....not one of these will be used on an android, BT compliant device, etc ...in any way. Now go correct yourself for this heresy of thinking apple doesn't guide fate itself. Say 20 apple rosaries. for the our father prayer..just replace Jobs for father. Get creative on the hail mary's I guess lol.

What's your definition of "better"?

For me, it could simply be something as elementary as "no wires", as the convenience of that may well be worth other hassles such as having to charge it ever so often, supposedly worse sound quality etc. I have a pair of Jabra Move Bluetooth headphones and I find the sound quality is good enough for me that I am largely indifferent to further improvements in sound, and don't mind sacrificing that for other perks.

As a consumer, it is my right to buy what I feel best suits my needs. If Bluetooth headphones meet my needs better than wired headphones, then Bluetooth headphones are better (for me). At the end of the day, not all pros and cons are created equal, nor do consumers value them evenly.

Better sound.

But if his prefer the "better" convience , so be it.

heck, many use apple's EarPods which are junk, so a BT headset is a major upgrade sound quality wise.

Don't know if anyone has answered already but yes there is lag. Just watched a movie using a UE Boom (Bluetooth 4.0 FYI) and it was quite irritating how the sound did not quite match up with mouths and such.

Edit: I'm curious why more people don't mention this problem, as I view it to be a very serious one. Do most people only listen to music with BT? Because watching videos or movies where the sound needs to match up it just can't cut it.
I cannot say that has been my experience. I watch shows on my Apple TV using a pair of Bluetooth headphones and I honestly can't say I have noticed any sort of lag. Sound quality is pretty good as well.

Been a great experience so far.

What's more simple and minimal than zero cables?
It worked for networking, and now it's taken for granted.
https://web.archive.org/web/19991005182537/http://www.apple.com/airport/

A cumbersome adapter for a wired headphone possibly? Having to carry 2 set of headphones, one that will work with my iPod and one with my iPhone...or at least a cable/adapter.

Having a useless lightning cable headphone that does not work on other apple products...

And BT never...ever....has connection issues, and I love dropouts while listening to my music :p apart from that, wireless audio coming to an iPhone is perfect .......simple it is not, when you own multiple apple products, profit it is...

aww...c'mon....pissing contents over who controls the BT device are fun. Its always fun and enjoyable when it gets really bad to turn off BT on every device you have to get that sync you want on the one you actually do.

Despite some people's opinions...I am a strong apple use guy. iPads, phones, MBP's...hell I am so apple I shoot in Pro Res 422 lol. BT connection hell with my kid's BT toys across all this...I have been there, done that, got the shirt. Many of them in fact.

this why I liked my wired so much. My video work exports I test all devices post iTunes vid sync/dl. iPhone, iPad (regular and mini) and mbp.

Wired makes this so much easier...watch on 1 device, unplug earphones and on to next device, watch, unplug to next device...watch. Bit anal maybe, I do it so when people say video looks funny I can ask what device so at lest apple devices are cleared before I release to public.

Wired this is a breeze. BT if I used it ....jsut not digging BT swipe games on and off the whole time.

Apple I think in secret owns shares or patents to label makers. To resolve BT issues for what I have in this realm...I had to break down and buy one. Device A mated to apple device A...label as such.

As lots of members states, BT or wireless headphone is just plainly more expensive than wired headphone. Lag? Hell. That was a nightmare dating back to the day when using wireless mouse and keyboard. Oh, they are all Bluetooth.
Wire has some inherited features wireless would take forever to achieve, such as zero latency, high reliability, etc. Wire is also good for privacy, as others may intercept wireless signals and know what you are listening to. This is not future tech BTW.
Price and reliability, plus one more battery need to take care of, I am done. I cannot constantly remind me to recharge headphone just to listen to music without that cable. Switch and pair? Apple Store experiment tells me one thing: this is just an illusion.

If there is absolutely zero choice for devices with headphone jack then I may finally consider going wireless. I will be the last one to enter this game.

I don't know why it's taking so long either. I've tried to contact them on Twitter but no reply yet.

I found the Bose earphones you were on about and they are still on sale? https://www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/produc...port-wireless.html#v=soundsport_wireless_aqua

Where did guy hear about them being taken off sale? Perhaps these are the updated ones.

I've tried to contact Jaybird via Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. I just keep getting the scripted reply of "keep checking social media for updates".

If you look again on the link for the Bose, it says at the bottom, ships within 5-6 weeks, which is when they are releasing the updated version :).

I've read about them been taken off of sale in a few places on the internet. One place I did see it mentioned was on a reply from Bose, on Amazon, where a customer had given a bad review. Below is a screenshot with Bose reply.

Ha ha ha . Classic . Half the time I have issues using my MacBook wireless .... Wired rocks!

And my BT Apple mouse went flying after much frustration, and since going back to wired, could not be happier.

Absolutely LOVE my wireless Beats headphones. They're perfect for the gym, although I may next purchase the smaller earphones model, because I'm not a fan of running on the treadmill with the big wireless headphones

How's the sound on these? I got a pair off ebay a few months ago and they were so underpowered it wasn't even funny. I sent them back and continue to use my wired bose ear buds. But seeing how popular beats are, maybe I just had a defective pair?

But, but, the internetz told me to hate on bluetooth headphones. You are telling me that consumers are slowly changing their perception and embracing wireless headphones?! Nilay and Macforums users told me that removing the 3.5mm headphone would not be acceptable... *existential crisis ensues*. /s

Ha! Adieu to that vestige of a port. Good riddance.
Feels good having your point of view validated with REAL data and not the usual disgusting display of emotions you see on here.

Says the person who did't read the article saying only 17% are purchasing BT.

Shocker!

The days of the user hostile headphones cables are finally coming to an end.

Maybe. But BT replaces them with user hostile poor battery life (and yea! another gadget to remember to charge) in addition to, at best, mediocre sound compared to even $50 headphones or buds. Kind of a pyrrrhic victory, if any kind, or consumers if you ask me.

I run almost daily with corded earbuds. Never had a problem with cord management. Never had a problem with radio interference. Never had a problem of dead battery. Always get fantastic appropriately bright and full sound.

I bought my first pair of blue tooth head phones. I use them mainly during my subway commute. I haven't had them long and haven't had a charging issue yet. But since I can't tell if they have a charge or not nor can I remember how much I've used them lately, I've now got "charge anxiety" in that I'm not quite sure how much juice they have left. I'm probably charging them more often (almost daily) than I need to. This part is annoying.

But that said, not having the cord attached to the phone is very nice. It really is. I can't quite explain why because it wasn't bad having a cord running to a phone that is entire tucked in a pocket or in my hand. But it is nice. I'm never going back after this.

And if Apple can make a nicer pair of headphones (I bought a cheap but well reviewed sporty pair) and have a battery notification like my watch on my phone, I'd be even happier with this set up.

How is "poor"? My Powerbeats2 last as long as a week; as for "remembering to charge", it doesn't take a rocket scientist to envision a BT headsets that charges from the phone's Lightning port, à la Pencil.

A cord, on the other hand, is a massive disadvantage; you're only so used to it https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stockholm_syndrome

I believe the Apple TV syncs the video and sound somehow. I know it does for AirPlay at least.

If you are getting a week either you are not using them or you have a unicorn pair.

From the Beats PowerBeats product page:

Powerbeats2 Wireless have a rechargeable battery that offers 6 hours of playback time. Average time to fully charge your earphones is 90 minutes.

6 hours playback time sure doesn't sound like 6-7 days. Sorry guy.

Also didn't say cords don't have a disadvantage. Everything as a disadvantage. What my post said was that BT has more disadvantages than corded for reasons stated. Enjoy your PowerBeats but they are not the end all, be all of earbuds. I'll keep my Shure 535s until there is a BT equivalent with a true long life battery. Powerbeats wouldn't even last me one run.

I have jaybirds to use for running and at the gym. I haven't been very impressed with their sound quality but i'm willing to sacrifice sound quality to cut the cord. Its very freeing not to have a cord bouncing around.

I will be upgrading when BT technology improves to increase range and sound quality.

With the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, Apple plans to eliminate the headphone jack, requiring consumers to rely on Lightning adapters...

Uh, you mean Apple is rumored to have plans....
