Am considering a Bluetooth headset & would like to know how it works in relation to apps. Specifically, WhiteNoise. If I have a Bluetooth headset does the sound go to the headset & mute the speaker or does the speaker stay on. I would like to be able to hear the sound thru the bluetooth headset without any sound coming out of the ipod touch speaker. Can I do that?

I believe that Bluetooth headphones are treated like regular headphones, so, yes (?)

Once you connect with a compatible bluetooth headset the speaker is disabled. There is only support for play, pause and volume control via the headset, no next\prev or microphone support, no mono single ear phone headsets only A2DP stereo headsets.

Yes bluetooth is treated as a regular headset so you wouldn't be able to use the speaker while using the bluetooth.
