My Apple keyboard has worked fine. Last night I lost my connection for the mouse and the keyboard(not unusual for the mouse). Had to set up both again. Mouse connected easily, keyboard took forever. Bluetooth would recognize it, it was discoverable(blinking green light), batteries strong, but could not make the connection. I did this over and over, finally got it. Tonight, same thing. Lost the mouse and the keyboard. Set them up again and same thing, mouse easy and keyboard still isn';t connected. Am I doing something wrong?

Try deleting the keyboard and pairing it again. Also, when typing in the passkey (with a second keyboard), press return/enter. If that doesn't work, you might have to delete few files relating to bluetooth functionality.

When I have this problem, the keyboard and the mouse are completely deleted, not by me. I have to pair them up like starting from scratch, like they have never been paired. The mouse is easy to pair again, it's the keyboard that is recognized, continue and then "pairing was unsuccessful". And yes it is discoverable, blinking green. If and when I get as far as typing in the number, I am fine.

I have this problem from time to time. It usually happens after I have taken my MBP out of range of the keyboard, and after I return within range, BT fails to reconnect automatically and my keyboard doesn't work. I usually have to set it up again, but for some reason it can take severel tries for BT to discover my KB. Sometimes I have to log out and log in again. I'll probably switch to a wired KB in the future.

Glad to know I am not the only one. Called Applecare and the young lady spent about 30 min trying different things. I think it is corrected now but I won't know until it happens again. She was very helpful.
