Bluetooth keyboard not typing all characters

OSX 10.6.3
iMac 10.1
Alu BT keyboard

All has been working fine, until today suddenly part of the bottom row of keys (z x c v b n m , . ) stopped working.

A USB keyboard works fine
Changed batteries in BT keyboard
Pairing OK

I have found this problem mentioned in two places in the forum, but with no answer

Anyone any ideas please?

How long have you had it. If it's been under a year, get a replacement.

Hmm.. I was hoping for a softer fix. But I now find that the keyboard misbehaves in the same way with another computer, so that suggest it is hardware specific
