I have had my bluetooth keyboard for about 14 months with no problems. I have used it with my Alum MacBook and a newer Alum MacBook Pro.

Recently it refuses to wake up when I wake up the Pro. I end up having to type in my password through the Pro's built in keyboard, turn off bluetooth, and turn it back on and then it wakes up and reconnects.

Any solutions or am I damned to buy an new one since this is out of warranty?

Try deleting (or moving) /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist and then restarting to see if that works. This is your Bluetooth settings file, so it is recreated from scratch after restarting after you delete it. Then re-add your keyboard and try again to see if the problem still persists.
