OK, just for the record, what is the difference between an optical and a laser mouse? I thought that optical was the kind with the red light under it...as in laser?

Laser has more DPI which means more accuarte which is useful if you play games. I have a mx5000 which has a BT mx1000 mouse. Great mouse, battery life is good!

Optical uses a red LED and goes up to about 800dpi.
Laser uses a laser and go up to and even past 2000dpi.

Can the BT version of the MX1000 be purchased seperately?
I would really like it. I don't want the keyboard. Let me know if you know anything

If you buy the package, your paying $70 more than just buying the USB Wireless RF version, granted you get a (good) keyboard.

And on Amazon, the mouse is about $60 vs suggested $80.
