everytime my iPhone iOS 11.2 beta connects to Bluetooth audio in my car the music starts to play automatically. It only happens when it connects to Bluetooth. How can I stop automatically playing music?

This should be fixed in beta 3.

For me this takes a slightly different form:

I get into my car. Bluetooth connects, phone continues playing music or podcast, without intervention. As far as I am concerned, this is a feature; it has always done that.

However, within 10 seconds or so, the phone will pause itself and then resume playing again.

If - when playback starts automatically (which I expect) - I immediately pause playback using my head unit screen, within 10 seconds or so, the phone will in-pause itself and start playing again > not expected. It does this only once. Until next time that pairing reconnects again.

You say “phone continues playing music or podcast.” The bug is that even if you weren’t playing anything through your phone, simply connecting to a Bluetooth device causing your music to start playing.

To be clear, this is what I mean:

If today I play a podcast or music and then tomorrow, when I go to work, I get into the car and phone connect to BT, I expect it to just start playing right away, where it stopped, without any intervention at all. This is a feature, no? :)

What if you don't want to listen tomorrow? There should be on/off feature for this function

(Shrug!)

No matter what they do here, they will make someone swear. Ideally there would be a setting somewhere in Bluetooth settings. But the auto play behavior that I speak of has been the same since I got the first iPhone (6s for me) so I'd think it was intended.
