Since having to reboot my mac and start again from installer disc for a third time the bluetooth has stopped working. the icon has simply got an x through it in the toolbar "bluetooth:NOt available"
Main problems with my macbook have come since i attempted to install security updates.
Which caused me many problems spening weekends attempting to fix my mac.

You need to go to System Preferences-->Network. Then, select the Bluetooth icon (single click) and hit the little "-" button. Then hit the "+" button, and add a Bluetooth connection. Then see if it works. It worked for me 🙂. You may need to restart.

i happen to had similar issue yesterday: all of sudden, the bluetooth totally gone, can't see it anywhere; when check system, it says "bluetooth module non exist"

finally tried one simple thing: "option+command+P+R" after shut down & re-power up, release when u hear the sound alarm of reboot

then the bluetooth come back and recognize my mouse
