Hi, I have Apple Watch 2 and use the same headphones you mentioned.
Did you get the problem resolved, as my watch is doing the same thing.
Thanks
Andy
You're always going to have a problem with the watch out of doors. The only possible resolution is to wear the watch on the side that the headphone's receiver is. Left side-left wrist. Right side-right wrist. I gave up and only pair to my phone outdoors.

I have the same problem with the nano and BT headphones. If I wear it clipped to my waist band on the left, it continually cuts out, if I have it clipped to my collar no issue. If I use it in the gym, I can leave it on a shelf while I use the equipment and have no problems. I was looking forward to pairing up my watch and leaving the nano behind. Now it looks like I'm going to have to think again about that or how I wear it. Same thing with avanca headphones, BT on right and I usually wear watch on left.

Just wanted to report that I had the same issue initially, skipping every few seconds with some cheap bluetooth headphones.

What resolved the issue for me was turning off bluetooth and wifi on my phone and leaving it at home. I tried running with the watch on both right and left wrists with absolutely no issues after I sorted out the whole searching-for-bluetooth-when-leaving-home-causes-skips thing.

Basically, get the watch disconnected from everything first, then start your workout and connect BT.

So, I've been running with the new AirPods and haven't had this problem at all. Surprisingly, they also fit better than my old Jaybird BlueBuds X, which skipped all the time when running.

Wait @Godan02, you're derailing this 1 year old thread..

But on topic:

Does anyone here have problems with BT on the iPhone 6, 10.2, recently? Phone's connected to a JBL Flip 2 which has been working great for the last year or so.

Music's playing fine for 30 minutes to 1 hour, then the sound's starting to cut out. Really weird and not reproducible. Can be fixed with a soft reset.

Anyone!

I've had this happen outside when walking or standing still, and most consistently when by traffic lights.

The first bluetooth headphones I bought about 3 years ago (Jaybirds? I think) did the same thing, by traffic lights.

I have owned, I think, 4 pairs of BT headphones in total, but only wore the first pair and my AirPods outside, but seems more than a coincidence to me.

Is anyone having problems when running with the Apple Watch (without the phone), using Bluetooth Headphones and the music constantly skips?

I'm on my 3rd pair of Bluetooth headphones (current the 66Audio brand) and whenever I start to run, the music skips in and out.

Once I stop running or am stationary, there is no problem?

Just came back from the Genius bar and they wanted to send the watch back to Corporate for diagnostic testing without giving me a temporary replacement?

Thanks.
[doublepost=1491070332][/doublepost]I had the same experience just now running. If I kept my arms up running it wouldn't cut out, but when I would take walk breaks it cut out bad. I have the Jaybird x3 so not cheap ones.

I think I've tried 4 or 5 different pairs from cheap to very expensive. None work well with the watch outdoors. I don't run, I only do long brisk walks and even with the better performing ones as soon as my wrist drops down and to my side putting my body between the headphones and the watch, the audio drops.

Indoors even the cheap ones work just fine. I have a pair of Air Pods now but haven't tried them with my watch. I don't want to be disappointed. I only pair and use headphones with my phone now. Unless a new watch model comes out that specifically deals with this I think it's probably useless to mess with this outdoors. Anyway I won't be bothering again. I always have my phone so it's not really an issue.

If that's outdoors then that's really good news. I never go out without my phone so I probably won't make use of that but nice to know I can.

[doublepost=1517095495][/doublepost]Yes mine does the same thing. It is extremely frustrating! Distracts me from my run!

As others reported I haven’t found any Bluetooth headsets that will work outdoors properly with the watch. Especially when running or brisk walking. Your arm movement will always interfere. However as some others have mentioned my Air Pods are rock solid. No skips or drops.

Plantronics backbeat fits do not skip *if* you have the watch on the right side.

I have the Plantronics. They worked great with my phone but struggled with my watch even on the “right” side. The environment you’re in will affect this as well. Indoors they always worked well as most of the others do. I gave up on all of them with my watch. Then got my Air Pods and haven’t looked back. Spent quite a bit of money trying all this. Backbeats, Jaybirds, and others. Can’t recommend any of them other than the Air Pods.

I also have the Apple Watch 3, I had given up on the 0 for this purpose largely. Perhaps that makes a difference? I don’t know. The environment I am talking about was outside in a fairly dense suburban area.

AirPods are flawless as you mention, I don’t love running with those though.

I run with AirPods using the earskinz covers. Takes @ 10 seconds to place each one onto the AirPods. Better quality sound and they are really snug and do not fall out.

I have AirPods and just bought an AppleWatch 3. I have the skipping as well and suspect Bluetooth not strong enough to maintain a solid connection. This is surprising since one of the benefits of the Watch 3 is to make phone calls.
