Griffin's "iTrip Clip" looks to be available now. It's a bluetooth remote/mic. with 3.5mm jack that you can use with your iPhone and existing wired headphones.

Has anyone tried anything like this? I see Amazon has many of these from unknown brands and that they have only bluetooth 3.x / 4.0.

The iTrip Clip from Griffin looks to be bluetooth 4.1.

Meh. The dongle is cheaper (free with iPhone 7 purchase) and as effective.

It's not the same. The dongle gives you a wired connection and not bluetooth.

They aren't worth it as they only support Bluetooth 3.0 and don't support aptX
