Why is the BlueTooth on the iPhone so pointless?

I can't send pics to other phones, i can't browse it from my macbook!!

Why???
 
1) Rushed to market. Eventually a few more profiles (such as stereo) will come.

2) Digital rights and Apple control freakism.
