It doesn't do anything to the video or audio. It simply removes HDCP and decrypts the disc (and as stated in posts 12 and 13 above). It also allows you to rip the Blu-ray to a hard drive where you can then play it on the Mac side using Plex.
 
I am running two Dell 2408's and running a LG BR drive and playing thru windows. The 2408 are HDCP and the picture is AMAZING. yes I do know they are not LED but for me that seem to work more then i could have imagined.
 
Wait let me get this straight. Some Bluray movies are HDCP while others aren't. How complicated.😕

Ones put out by the studios have HDCP. Anything that you can make on a Mac and some of what you make on a PC doesn't have HDCP.

In other words, the Blu-ray quality movies you make and burn to Blu-ray on a Mac will not ever have HDCP because the OS doesn't support it yet.

And you can choose whether or not to add it to movies you make on a PC.
