Bluray play to imac

Hey all, not sure if this has been asked, im new here.

Ive just got a refurbished late 2009 27inch imac, im wondering about the possibility of connecting a bluray player up to it to use it as a display?

Is this possible?

specifically this would be the player i would connect up.

Would a mini display to hdmi work?

It's possible, but you would only get 720p and it requires an adapter that is more expensive than the player itself.

He is right, you'd better buy an external blu-ray player (like this one for example, not to expensive: http://www.amazon.com/LG-External-L...3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1302554965&sr=1-3) and use Bootcamp or Parallels to play Blu-ray in Windows.

Or use Make MKV's streaming server to play the disc with VLC under OS X. Not pretty, but it works.
