I remember seeing a screenshot of Leopard where the terminal was transparent, as well as blurred (like the menubar). This would greatly help readability, especially on certain backgrounds, but I can't figure out how to do it. Is this a feature of the new Terminal?

in the tiger's terminal you could change the background colour, transparency, and font colour the window settings. in leopard's terminal you can shell->new window->homebrew for an old school black transparent green font unix shell. or you can change it in the preferences.

Right - I am aware of how to make the Terminal transparent. But I would also like it to be translucent - i.e., I would like whatever is behind the terminal to be blurred a little bit, just like the effect that is used in the Leopard menubar and menus.
