Cool isn't it?

Plus you could swop your electric shower for a mixer, which works from the water that you've heated for free - saving even more money.

And when you think that heating costs are only going to increase year on year, geting a Solar/ heat Pump system will save you £100's.

I meant the only turning his heating on for 3 months.

Sweet home Alabama. 3 months of heat, 3 months of A/C, and six months of windows open. Its around 65 degrees F outside right now. We are now in the "windows open during the day and closed at night" stage.

I'm sorry, when I was thinking "Boiler" I was picturing a hot water heater. (Silly American) I can't believe people are still heating their homes with those things. Wouldn't it be more efficient to use a heat pump? And not have those unsightly radiators all over the place? I only have to use heat 3 months a years, so maybe that is an option you all don't have across the pond.

But heat pumps have problems as well. If the out side temps drops more than about 20 degrees below what your home is set at there effervescent starts dropping very fast. There just is not that much heat they can pull from the out side. On top of that the air coming out of them just is never going to feel that warm.

The nice thing about the Boiler system is it is not a dry heat from the force air systems.
