BOINC manager

i am having trouble using the BOINC manager every time i try to connect to the internet with it i get failed message about there being no internet connection but my internet works fine for everything esle, any ideas on what is wrong with BOINC?

The only thing I can think of is firewall or BOINC's proxy settings.
It's worked fine for me on 10.5.2
