Hey guys,

I've got a 17" Powerbook G4 that has kind of an odd problem. If I try to start it up normally, it gives me a bomb error message (the grey apple background with a black box in multiple languages telling me to restart). However, if I start the computer up in safe mode, it runs just fine. I've tried taking out all the extensions and then running normally, replacing the RAM, replacing the hard drive, zapping the PRAM, running the hardware test, reinstalling panther, and installing tiger from scratch. The majority of people I talk to seem to think that it is a logic board problem.... but then why would the hardware tests pass and why would it run normally in safe mode? If you could help me out, that would be great, I'd rather not shell out the money for a new logic board if it isn't necessary.

Thanks,
jen

no panic.log

I don't have a panic.log file. Here is the system.log file in case that is helpful at all.
