Whatever else I may be - its not rich.. unlucky, careless, lazy, sleep, ugly.... sure...

ive gone through 3 MacBook Air in just over a year. My pocket is crying.

1. Laptop sitting on bed side-table with earphones plugged in, fell asleep - woke to find laptop on floor with cracked screen.

2. Laptop sitting on large desk, cats started fighting like end-of-world, jumped up to stop them, chair caught cord, laptop briefly learned to fly, terrible ending...

3. Last night, set my newish Air on bed, went to brush teeth, GF turned over in sleep and wrapped comforter around her, lappy landed open mouth first on floor with spectacular shatter pattern.

Now looking at midnight M2 and need something like military might use... bulletproof like Supermans boxers... or at least rubberized corners, and something to stick out a bit to protect screen...

Prior to this went 20+ years with no broken devices.. Recommendations for skin I can leave laptop in to work?

thanks

I’ll have a look online see what I can find for you. Having said that though I’d say number 2 was unlucky but the others are a littel careless. 3 macbook Airs in one year as well? ,couldn’t they fix the screen for you on the first one you damaged ?

No, Overseas and no apple store here. Not worth dealing with local shop wanting 900 USD for screen replacement, when IM not sure thats the only damage - sigh

MagSafe will take care of #2. I doubt any case would help you with either of the other two. I'd just be more cautious about how and where you're using it, and be sure to invest in AppleCare+.

if i were you, i'd buy the cheapest used or refurbished intel air you can find... so when that one breaks, you'll have a budget for yet another used or refurbished air. or just change your approach on where to keep your mac when not in use. good luck for real 😳

Don't use it on the bed... If you're just watching a movie or something like that get an iPad Air/ Pro. You can get really good cases and short of direct impact to the screen it will survive falling off the bed.

MagSafe... Did you have it hooked to MagSafe?

I think you're using the wrong tool for the job. An iPad is the way to go. I've used my M2 on the bed a few times enough to realize it's not going to end well for me. If I'm awake and sitting sure but laying down I put it back and get my iPad.

If you insist on a laptop then the only thing I can think of is a Panasonic Toughbook. They're not indestructible but close. Of course they're not cheap.

Myself, I'm waiting for the UAG Plyo case to come out, I inquired and got a response that the Plyo case is being made for M2 and will be out soon.
